Agreed, reviewer didn't seem to think so though, but it's one of the stronger tracks here imo.



@Game I'll give you that but nothing I've heard from Watain has blown me away or really disappointed me either, it's just good enough to take it or leave it. Same with these guys.

and tell me that "Unchain my Soul" is objectively better on any measurable level other than it's a lot easier to make a music video 20 years later.



I'm not hating on anyone for liking it, obviously, but c'mon there are maybe, at most , 2 main riffs in "Unchain my Soul". The music video is gay and, like I said in my review, it is weak as an opening track for a band that is defined by intense and compelling album openers, especially considering they had 7 years to work on this album.

Fair enough it's not your jam, I thought it was one of the better songs here but I understand why you don't like it. Never claimed it was better than their older stuff either, but for recent era Dark Funeral I thought it was good. C'mon though the music videos shouldn't really be factored in.

Point taken, and frankly I agree when it comes to black metal music videos really shouldn't even exist. Sorry if I seemed a little argumentative, I can get downright passionate about 90's era black metal especially after I've had a few beers. I will give you that, considering the album as a whole, Unchain... is one of the better tracks. I did find it to be disappointing as the opening track, though.

No worries passion is a good thing. And yeah a good case for the non existence of BM music videos is Immortal - Call of the Wintermoon haha, although those guys can get away with it because they don't take themselves too seriously anyway and rule regardless.

A lot of very pleasurable tunes on this one. Not quite as venomous and acidic as Attera Totus Sanctus either, which is good. I felt something was seriously wrong with that album, can't really put my finger on it.



This has better songwriting too. Just makes me want to praise Satan and fuck someone in the ass.
