Speak for yourself, I actually really like this. But no one said they're immune to critques.

The more often I listen to "Hurricane", the more it becomes obvious that this is so close to perfection. It could be the best song they have ever done imo.

not saying you can't critique it. i just think comparing to other albums is pointless...though as a fanboy i kind of agree with your blind praise comment.

same, Freddie - M/M was an instant hit for me but has grown off me a lot since it came out while Beggars took me longest to get into but has now for years been my favorite Thrice album

major/minor grew on me a bit but beggars did the opposite unfortunately. beggars has higher highs than this or m/m though.

i think my favorite off this after one listen was the window. hurricane and death from above are up there too but i wish they would've turned the musclebrain factor on the choruses down a couple notches. could really do without the christian rock influence all over this thing too

a huge part of my Beggars love has to do with his lyricism on there, so yeah, I'd suggest giving it another listen, especially if this still isn't doing much for you in the lyrics department

The Window needs more love. Hurricane is cool and all, but that's still my favorite here by miles.

The Window is probably my 2nd favorite track here
the lyrics here are almost uniformly awful, especially Whistleblower oh my god they're bad

First impressions after one listen:

1. more "Beggars Pt. 2" than "Vheissu Pt. 2"

2. Different production style than any previous Thrice material (not sure if good or bad thing yet)

3. 2nd half is way stronger than 1st half

aw man whistleblower. as soon as I caught a whiff of the more political lyrics from the singles they released, i just knew that song was going to suck ass lyrically when i saw it coming up on the tracklist. not quite as bad as something like post-2006 muse but fuck
