‘This album is the safest Radiohead has played it since The Bends’
Weird way of looking at it, no way The Bends seemed ‘safe’ in ‘95
They went from sounding small scale worshipping the Pixies to sounding U2 huge and with Buckley influenced vocals. It may not be to your taste but it certainly wasn’t lacking in ambition or ‘safe’.
The only way you could say it was safe in ‘95 is if you had a time machine and knew they’d record Kid A just five years later. Despite being experimental in a few ways I’d say HTTT felt the most stale, regressive and ‘safe sounding at the time of release’ Radiohead album by quite a distance

"They should make a better final album"

So I re-listened to this in full and forgot how cinematic sounding this is. Sounds like it was created to be movie music. The album could have benefitted from a bit more differentiation and excitement in my opinion. The albums songs can blur quite a bit.

I also have a playlist for this album that's stupidly similar to yours. Glass Eyes as the opener, Ill Wind as the closer and all, haha.

Still in my top 5 for sure. Daydreaming is still one of my all-time favorite tracks by these guys

I know it wasn't technically on this album but Harry Patch has got to be one of my top 3 Radiohead songs
Out of the actual tracklist, I'd go with either Daydreaming or Tinker Tailor. Music video for Burn the Witch still rules, too.

I have a few different variations of this (full tracklist reordered only, tracklist including bonus tracks, tracklist including cuts to weaker songs for purposes of maintaining brevity, etc). They're all on my private account but I can post them to my sowingsputnik one sometime.

Sowing I remember us posting and comparing playlists in this thread before haha
The alphabetical order just didn't quite do the songs justice.. I'll make a playlist at some point soon, think my account is just my name.
