I'd love to see some examples of better albums this year of people giving this less than 4.5

They can give this less than a 4.5 and still think it's AOTY.
That said, I put 1 or 2 albums above this.

Uada - Devoid of Light
Avantasia - Ghostlights

I am going to jam this a bit more though, I was doing some work while listening to this so I think it deserves my full attention.

Both of those are fairly good but certainly nothing special, unlike Terminal Redux indeed seems to be judging by the difference in ratings between these albums

They are entirely different genres. I like black metal and power metal more than thrash, so in my opinion those are both better than this. Might change though, like I said I'm going to give this a few more listens. But I'm not going to change my rating on this to a 5 without bumping up a lot of other albums to 5 that I have 4.5'd that I liked more than this.

What a lovely guy. He reminds me of Chuck in a way, now even more so with his very humble and polite attitude.

I've heard David DiSanto is a nice guy as well, seen at least two people claim he and the rest of the band helped their car out of a ditch. I have to say that the story about him pouring beer on a protester and spending a night in jail for it is pretty funny too.

Yeah I was watching interviews with the band and they all seems pretty humble and well spoken. Makes me like the band even more.

^^^Hell yeah, band members' personalities absolutely come through in their music, most of the time.

Douchey musicians often make pretentious wankery

Chill people make relatable tunes.

Cool metalheads make awesome metal.

Will have to check this Uada thingy then (I don't like Power Metal, except some Blind Guardian, Iced Earth and Grand Magus albums, so usally stuff that are somewhere in between heavy and power metal)!

Checked Uada... Kinda generic scandinavian inspired black metal. Didn't really like MGLA last year (or rather: I was completely indifferent to it), so chances are I will not like Uada much more than that. I mean, it's good. But not THAT good (like a solid 3.5).
