"Why is this every metalheads favourite electronic act?"
There's a lot of crossover appeal with darksynth and metal, something initially pushed by Blood Music when Perturbator became the first synthwave artist to sign onto the label (which at that time was risky since BM primarily released black and death metal albums). So the success of Pert's first label album Dangerous Days is largely why the crossover exists because his dark style of synthwave got pushed to a primarily metalhead audience and it connected

I feel like the metal influences never feel forced, they're just a natural part of the music, its great

I mean, Perturbator toured last as a three piece metal band (drums, guitar and synth), so, the influence is there. Some parts of the live set bordered on downtempo deathcore with big breakdowns and shit. Personally I think it's cool to see a band experimenting and having fun with their own sound, it was still distinctly a Perturbator set.
from wikipedia: "Kent has a background as a guitarist in several black metal[3] bands." well there you go.

This could take the title of best synthwave album ever

I think I like Dangerous Days better, but this makes a strong contender. Carpenter Brut's Trilogy too

You should listen to Deadlife's Bionic Chrysalis...it's awesome. If you like Carpenter Brut and Perturbator, you'll probably like it.
Dance with the dead
and Danger are pretty cool too

Quite an interesting record. Not sure if it really transcends to a 4.0 but I am also not that familiar to the genre
