A shame if you actually think about it. Maybe if they hadn't "rushed" it that much it could've been as good as CotC

They go more into a social critic topic in this one as I said on the review, so maybe the culmination of the concept we see in here was Breakfast

Supertramp's lyrics are wonderful, unlike a lot of prog bands, lol.

Agreed, and the contrast of those lyrics with the style of the music is what makes them so unique

Listening to Breakfast in America now, that and Crime Of The Century, and Even In The Quietest Moments, puts them at the top of my all-time prog bands.

I'm glad to see that you have got time for another review SirLord. Especially in this case. The album deserves to have finally a review, here.
I always loved Supertramp and Supertramp was one of the bands that introduced me to the good music.
This is also very special to me because I always loved this album. I always thought that it's the most underrated album from the band. For me it's in the third place after "Crime Of The Century" and "Even In The Quietest Moments" and before "Breakfast In America".
Great review, man. The album definetelly deserved a review like this.
Pos.

Glad you enjoyed the review man!
Album's awesome, but I wouldn't say it is better than Breakfast

...so even if Lady or The Meaning are excellent songs and try to keep up the quality of Side B...
Did you mean Side A? (not sure lol)
.. with a crically acclaimed...

Just Another Day
Just a Normal Day
I did read the review carefully this time. And it was well written, really.

Thanks jethro, I fixed those
I meant that those songs are the ones that try to save side B, but the ones that aren't that good in there just won't let them lol

nice write up sirlord dude.....but i feel that this record is a bit overrated at a 4.1

Just a Normal Day is the only weak song, so no.

a 4.1 is a decent avg for me, Just a Normal Day, Poor Boy and the closer are the only weak tracks for me, and even if the album lacks the "feelz" that CotC has, it still features awesome songwriting

ehh it's ok
For Supertramp just "ok" isn't enough though!, we are talking about some of the underrated gods of prog in here jethro and you know it haha

Fair enough, mate. Their worst tracks are not that bad. They're only pale in comparison with their highlights.
I'd like to listen to their very first album, but I can't find a stream.

I haven't checked their first two, but since they're supposed to be totally different in style plus pretty average (if not bad), I'm not that interested

Yeah I hear their first album is soft acoustic prog ala Trespass or something. Try Roger Hodgsons first solo album. Kinda 80s but still good...like 90125.

Yeah I know, SirLord. They're supposed to be smoother and psychedelic and stuff. I'm just curious to take them to their first steps towards stardom. The first album has an average of 3.5 on ProgArchives. The 2nd one has only a 2.6.
