the vocals are ear shattering. they're incredible in a strange way. I get why you don't like them but like open yr mind man. I've never seen live vocals like that. FUcking shreeking away like a god damn banshee, what a set.

Great review. Just saw these guys. I'm familiar with their reputation, but went in without knowing much other than a few songs from here. The sound was absolutely overwhelming, but I still left sort of feeling like I was missing something. I get and appreciate Mort's perspective, but would anyone care to express what they take away from jamming this? Does it feel heavy or unsettling to you? Is it the feeling of dread Mort describes?

yee these guys are ridiculous live, tho i have to admit i was hoping their sound would resemble this album like, a little bit more. at least in the guitar tone. honestly couldn't even hear the guitar

@bnelso

dread, catharsis, yes. it crushes but it's also beautiful. plus it's also just an amazing feast of texture. leaves me feeling cleansed by the end

Thanks, Brick. I get the feeling of dread, but texture was a point I hadn't really considered. I'll have to keep that in mind and listen a little closer as I check more of their discography.

texture isn't even anything mind blowing tho, i mean yea it's sludgy, but nothing to really gawk over

I'd say there's a little bit more going on with the guitars here than just them being sludgy. And the electronics add a further dimension

when i saw them they didn't even play guitar, it was entirely electronic.

also looks like the full of hell collab album is due out for/before october, and that the body is finishing another album in september on top of that.

This is one of the strangest albums I've ever listened to tbh, but in a good way. Gotta check out more from these dudes.
