The problem with Eros is if it's actually ever released, people are going to be disappointed because they have built it up so much in their minds. Honestly I wish fans would stfu about it already and move on with their lives.

two of the best at the very least. either way i agree though that opinion is very, as the kiddos say these days, "problematic"

Phantom Bride is ok, but not a fan of Hearts/Wires.

Prayers/Triangles, Rubicon, Doomed User, Geometric Headdress and t/t are my favs on here

I really like most of the songs on this album, but the production holds it back a lot for me.

i was actually in the mood to listen to this specifically the other day. first time that actually happened, up 'til now anytime i spun it it was just kind of like "eh it's the newest deftones might as well try & warm up to it more i guess" but that day, i just saw those beautiful birds in my head & it was all i could hear!

Can't believe they played Smile... does this mean the band is taking a second look at that 2004 material? Or is this just throwing a bone to the fans that have been holding out for Eros? Either way, their current setlist is fucking killer.

maybe they've repurposed some of the older material from Eros for the new album, who knows.

that.... would actually be really cool. And would explain the extensive wait between albums. Not gonna get my hopes up, but I love your theory.

they started playing unusual songs more often a few years ago and I really dig it. I think they are just having fun and wanna try something new until the new stuff is out. their setlist from the Dia de los Deftones is weird and amazing. starting with rickets and going clustering per album. it is also odd they did not include anything from gore

“ it is also odd they did not include anything from gore“

Yeah it’s gonna fall by the wayside like the s/t and SNW.

Shame, I really would’ve liked to see Hearts / Wires live.
