Why does no one remember the brutal title track on this one?

Never got into this nearly as much as other Deftones albums, maybe I should give it another spin at some point. SNW, DE, and WP are where it's at though.

Title track is good but hovering around the middle for me. Acid Hologram is great and under appreciated.

Chinos screams at the end of Gore are the most gnarly vocals of his entire career. The best moments here are sublime, the production really does fuck with it though

Nah, his screams at the end of Bloody Cape, his screams in Hexagram and When Girls Telephone Boys And his screams during Rats Rats Rats are the most gnarly. The screams during Gore are good and all, but don’t really stand out among the rest imo.

If we have to pick one, it’s gotta be that scream at the end of Rats Rats. It sounds so despairing, unholy, demonic and straight from the pits of hell lol.

A thousand times yes. ATF is very very good too! KNY is overrated though.

The title track is definitely one of the best things on this. This is still their weakest album though

I would say Adrenaline is their weakest but it’s still very good as is this.

Adrenaline does have one of my top ten Deftones songs though (Fireal). That song was a sign that there was more to this band than it seemed.

Agreed @ both. I love ATF. KNY isn't bad but it def doesn't compare to the albums before it. Shit, I forgot about s/t, love that one too.

Adrenaline is good tbh, I like it more than this but I know most prolly disagree.

In a sense they both are tbh. I do think DE is excellent, but it's definitely not as good/better than WP (or SNW) imo.

KNY -- idk, I think it's better than Gore but those are my least favorite Deftones. I'm probably due to spin both again though.

Everything after Rocket Skates is kind of weak for me. But I love the other songs so much that it’s one of my favorite Def records.

KNY on the other hand is just awesome the whole through. Probably their best album honestly. Goon Squad, Leathers, Swerve City...

I mean, KNY has Tempest, Rosemary, Entombed and Leathers — three of their absolute best songs. I mean, I think I only have it at number 4 or 5 in my ranking, but it’s still a 4.5. Tells you how good these guys are. Possibly my favorite band of all time. Been listening to them since ATF came out.

but come on man, Risk and 976-Evil are up there with the best on DE. My 3rd fav Deftones. Just feels very balanced on all aspects of their songs. Very immediate, catchy and accessible. It’s like Deftones’ “blockbuster movie”, but one that’s extremrly well done and pleasing (like Star Wars, Jurassic Park etc).

DE is my 2nd favourite after WP, I'd say it's bands smoothest listen.
