True satement. The album cover is also one of the coolest I've ever seen.

I noticed that too...it didn't catch my eye at first, but it's really cool in a muted sort of way.

Great review Shattered as per usual. I have heard "The Adversary" and I enjoyed it very much. Ihsahn was awesome in Emperor but he is in a field of his own with this I reckon. Weird but definitely wonderful.

For some vague reason I liked this on first listen.... a lot. Didn't seem that kind of record though.

I thought I'd review this.. but you said most of the things I wanted to say anyway.. :D.. Still might...

I love how he shows so much emotional dynamics through the album instead of the whole thing being angry.. angry.. angry... pissed off angry... cornered angry... more intense angry... and angry again...

This album is amazing. It's so different, but thats what makes it great. Every track is composed and performed with the utmost care, and it shows. Its heavy and dark while also being serene and calm.

It's different from what he did in Emperor, a lot different. It's still great though.

His clean singing vocals are very good, the music is very good, his screaches could use some work, ive heard better. Overall that one song is pretty solid, i might look into this

One of the most interesting and captivating metal releases I've heard in a while. One of the greatest things about this album is that it doesn't SOUND like a solo album.

Album owns. Never been a big fan of Emperor, but I like Ihsahn's solo project. The Pain is Still Mine is ****ing epic. Call By The Fire kicks ass too. Ihsahn is an awesome composer, that's for sure.

I got Ihsan's newer release, but I never got this one. I really love "Homecoming" though, even though it blatantly rips off A Change of Seasons.
