This Time, Tower of Snakes, Waiting for the Heavens and Lost in a Dream are all great songs.
But Tower of Snakes man. GOAT breakdown to this day.

I don't think they were great, but they were definitely progenitors of what would become mallcore, and they were 100 times better than any of those bands.
I always dug the direction they started taking here for how unique they sounded comparatively. Almost like injecting Poison or Warrant into So-Cal metalcore or something. And james always struck me as a pretty great frontman.

I've always thought Still Remains' debut was the proto mallcore album. You have piqued my interest lmao

I like TDWP would be my pick for proto mallcore

I used to really dig Still Remains' debut. I should spin that again. But yeah, 18V predates both those bands significantly iirc, and shared members with throwdown and bleeding through as well.

This album was kind of ahead of its time with the hard rock metalcore crossover that is so common now. Aged better than it was received. Tower of Snakes breakdown is goated

This Time just permanently has its hooks stuck in my mind apparently. And Waiting for the Heavens...that main riff man they were heavy AF when they wanted to be.
