Minty did you go to the Milton Keynes show because if you did I can't believe there were like 15 people there and one was a Sputter and I didn't know

I thought the show was awesome! I was the guy helping his disabled dad get about - you almost definitely noticed me haha

I really thought it was a great show, the sound was a bit funky (overpowering bass made the quiet sections feel a hit odd) but the new songs sounded absolutely on par with the old stuff - especially the gorgeous violin sections.

It was sad that there were more people in the bar than at the show - I hope the band didn't feel it was a wasted trip

15 people, jeez that must make the band feel terrible. Also, it's surreal meeting a sputter in person

thats sweet of you. i didnt notice you unfortunately because (1) i was so engrossed and (2) i was the weird dude stood in front of everyone like jesus swaying frantically to the music. i didnt turn back so didnt really see how few people there were until right at the end when i went to leave and thought "...i guess most people rushed out the door before i had a chance to turn round?"

i thought the bass was overpowering in like the first minute but then either it improved or i stopped noticing it. the violin sounded gorgeous absolutely. did you not also get the feeling that together those leaves just completely overshadowed everything else? it was just so massive. all the songs were great but i was blown away by that first one.

i agree about feeling a little sorry for the band. after the show i went up to james briefly and told him how excellent they were and how much i appreciated them coming to do the show. i dont think i would have done that if the crowd had been bigger. i think its not too surprising though that the crowd was small as the mk gig was scheduled after the other tour dates, so most people will already have arranged to see them elsewhere maybe. then again it was on easter weekend so nobody is working so i duno. i have a ticket for their london gig on friday that i bought before mk was announced, but i wont go because its pretty far out of my way to see the same set a second time. i would if the venue was a little closer to kings cross though.

Definitely saw you man - I was on the back wall cos Dad needed to sit - brought him along cos he can't get to many concerts nowadays even if he wasn't really into the music too much!

I've seen them before once, and the sound was a ton better, so I guess I just noticed it more! TTL was fabulous for sure -, but I really thought every song stood up to the live setting perfectly - James is a decent poet too, I thought it was just the right side of pretentious to be rather lovely actually : )

Yeah I hope they get a really great crowd at their London gig to make up for it - I just hate it when no-one turns up to a show. Had a good old rant later on about people not giving a shit about live music anymore haha

ah thats the first time ive seen them i guess i didnt have my expectations set high enough. i kind of thought id seen everything after seeing mono 3 times and sigur ros, plus every band at arctangent 2014. but yndi were definitely a surprise for me.

Looks like the London gig is sold out so that's good news for them.
