You're approaching this all wrong. "Hurt" is a joke to you. It may well have been a joke to him. May not have been. Regardless, it came out years ago and you're holding it against him. Watch the "Tokyo Drift" and "Hoover" music videos. He's a maturing artist and you don't take that into account. You're justifying things on this album with stuff that came out in 2012, etc. And I'm telling you so you can approach different things outside your comfort zone as well. Eliminate your biases and approach the works as they are. You clearly went into this thinking it would be a joke and came out with that same conclusion. And if you didn't, that's how the review comes off, which is clearly an issue that needs to be addressed anyways. Take your criticism stop defending yourself.

All entitled to an opinion but I really think you've missed the point of Yung Lean. He is a well informed individual that merges several cliches (bitches & drugs) smashes that with some vapourwave aesthetic + being a white Swedish kid that detracts from having any validity of being a hip-hop artist. Watch more interviews - hear him talk about how cliche all other Scandi rappers are. I really think does his own thing. What defines a 'good' rapper anyways? He is making music that he wants to and by god I love it. Completely on the quest to maturing his sound and also you just ain't S A D enough.

you guys need to chill out this is an OK review. most of it is really well-written and the last paragraph really isn't that bad.
like I like yung lean don't get me wrong but apparently his fanbase is insanely biased. the approval ratio on this sucks and I've seen three comments implying or downright stating that the author should never review again. that's so out of proportion for a conflict of opinion.
