Opeth was famously cited as the primary influence on penning in the court of the crimson king

I've always thought that album was an opeth ripoff

The rain was waving goodbye
And when the night came
The forest folded its branches around me
Questionable metaphors aside, the music right there is orgasmic.

I edited the photo myself (I just paste the opeth image of course)
Translation: Hey, what are you listening? Can I hear it?

I've never been to an opeth concert, but I guarantee that 99% of the crowd are men.

@Ben you should listen to Below the Lights, Axioma Ethica Odini, and RIITIIR. In any order you want really. Vertebrae and the last two are pretty good too.

There's no way a woman can listen to them. They (were) like the early genesis. No love songs whatsoever, so women were completeley absent until they released follow you follow me.

You'd be surprised I guess :] The majority are men for sure, but I'd set the balance at maybe 70% to 30%.

'What album would you recommend os? Always thought the RIITIIR artwork looked cool'
Axioma Ethica Odini is a nice entry point if you're interested in their prog era, definitely some Opeth vibes at times.
'I've never been to an opeth concert, but I guarantee that 99% of the crowd are men.'
Yeah this is totally inaccurate, as Davil says 70/30 sounds more appropriate/realistic. Also, why does it matter? Lol, just read the love songs quip, my mum would disagree.

Haha, exactly.
Remember when Mike said ''This is the song that will get us chicks backstage'' before playing Windowpane on The Roundhouse Tapes? They didn't come out of nowhere did they?

Shamefully (perhaps) I've never heard The Roundhouse Tapes as I don't usually bother with live albums. Maybe I should. Can you just listen to it anywhere without the DVD? I see it's 2 discs.

It's a good album, but I know what you mean. I don't jam them as much either (apart from the Portishead one, oh my god that thing is perfect). There's two CDs and a DVD, so I think you should be able to find it. I love the setlist of Roundhouse:
When / Ghost of Perdition / Under the Weeping Moon / Bleak / Face of Melinda / The Night and the Silent Water / Windowpane / Blackwater Park / Demon of the Fall
