Nah it's not. Blaze is the first fully fleshed out realization of the second way in all of it's evil glory. Transylvanian Hunger is a stylistic tour de force that took an already primal genre and stripped it to its core.



Funeral Moon is the middle child. A bridge between the two.

And De Mysteriis is more evil and all that other second wave bm stuff than Blaze anyway

Blaze is only like 50% fully realised 2nd wave BM, and then the other half is bm/dm Darkthrone hybrid as they transition. Funeral Moon is Darkthrone at their coldest, rawest, and blackest tbh.
