Hated this band when they first got big -- really like this LP though. If I go back to anything older than this will it have the same vibe? Rec me their closest sounding LP to this.

Fever and Vices have a quirkiness that this doesn't. That's what makes me like them more and probably what makes you like them less. The other two I've never jammed, and they are for the most part considered weaker, but from what I know, Pretty. Odd. has quite a Beatles influence, while Too Weird... is the most mainstream sounding.

Hey I really like miss Jackson. Although if we got the early version with the Fiona Apple sample that'd be better.
Band is a huge guilty pelasure for me.
And they put on a helluva live show

Can't stop myself coming back to this album, just keep enjoying it more and more every time. 'Emperor's New Clothes' is such a jam.
Also I feel like Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die gets better with time, I really hated it at first, but I've liked it a lot more recently. Not their best work of course, but it's not terrible either.
