I did like 'Girls/Girls/Boys' a lot... I think it was off to a bad start when 'Miss Jackson' was the first single (in the UK at least, I dunno how it was elsewhere)...

Too Rare was bad. Miss Jackson was one of the better songs and it still was not good. This is Gospel is the only song I'm interested in off of that album. This CD on the other hand is a just a much better version of the ideas in Too Rare with a little more Vices influence thrown in for good measure.

I can't quite recall much of the last album anymore aside from This Is Gospel and Miss Jackson, the former of the two songs I remember most 'cause of my sister. Anyhoo, this is pretty darn enjoyable. Golden Days is a highlight for me, personally.

Vegas Lights honestly made me want to rip my ears off. I think it's their absolute worst song...

The only songs I took off of the last album was This is Gospel and Collar Full. Compared to this, Too Weird was so boring and forgettable. A lot of the songs here get me so pumped up tbh

There's a lot out there to hear, then.

Impossible year is actually one of the best songs on the album. It's songs like House of memories and hallelujah are the ones that kinda feel eh.

"TenSecondsToThink", did you even hear their last album.

This was surprisingly enjoyable. I love hallelujah and the weird trap/swing tracks, but the second half is really weak. So far I'm teetering between a 2.5 and a 3.

Lowered my rating for this. It's become almost grating to endure.

Interesting seeing the ratings for this. I haven't listened to the last album yet either, but I really liked Fever and Vices & Virtues was pretty decent.
I really like Brendon Urie, but sometimes he seems a bit overbearing. Now that he's basically the only member of the band, I feel like that would get even worse.

so would i like this if i absolutely loathe emperor's new clothes?

No.

i figured as much. my sister's boyfriend plays it all the time and i think it's complete and utter dogshite, not so unlike the trash on the last album. thing is, i'm a BIG fan of their first two albums, and their third to a lesser extent

Yup, same exact thing here. They used to be really good but somewhere along the line they lost their creativity.

yeah, their first album was like an attraction, a spectacle - it sounded huge and was catchy and filled with cute lyrics. and the second one, i didn't even care that they were borrowing heavily from the beatles because god damn. the third started their decline i think but still had great tunes (that last one, witches-something was fantastic). i had high hopes for the one after that but holy fuck was it ever bad. it was like all of a sudden they were pumping out the most generic rock-pop shit ever. every song sounded the fucking same.
i've heard this is heavily influenced by sinatra, which made me somewhat excited to hear it, but all i've heard is the title track, which is honestly decent, and that other song which is a piece of shit

Golden Days is phenomenal. Honestly Ill probably end up lowering my rating on this, but I am having fun with it for now. I miss their Fever days.
