Allison road is a game that says it takes the concept and calls it a spiritual successor. Look it up

Yeah, I checked out the demo they put up. It was kind of cool. It was definitely about 10 minutes of "LOOK AT OUR GRAPHICS" and then 2 minutes of "NOW THIS IS WHERE THE COOL SHIT ACTUALLY HAPPENS"

I'll keep my eye on it though.

I think it met its Kickstarter goal and they're looking for a late 2016 release.

I'll definitely watch out for it. Survival Horror/Psychological Horror games haven't seen much love lately.

I'm looking forward to trying SOMA finally, I've heard good things, though I wasn't really that into Amnesia.

I miss psychological Japanese horror games. Literally non-existent these days. Which is why it crippled me to know PT got canned.

Yeah... kind of a dead genre, unfortunately. No more Fatal Frame, no more Silent Hill, Resident Evil are straight-up action/shooter games now.

Yeah... although, Capcom say the next one is back to "horror"; if I had a penny for everytime they said that before a Resi game came out, I could fund development for a proper horror game myself.

I had high hopes for The Evil Within, what with it being by Shinji Mikami, but I was pretty disappointed by that one too.

My biggest problem with the direction the RE games took is that there's no more "scary" there. You didn't used to be able to fight every zombie you saw because ammo was limited, and you wanted to hoard your supplies for the next big enemy. After 4, you WANTED to kill everything, because it was very rare that you were wanting for ammo or any sort of supplies. There was no tension anymore.

I still find the later games fun, they just don't have anything close to the atmosphere the older games had.

Agreed.

And yeah, Evil Within was a letdown overall, though I did enjoy it. I just wish the whole game was like the intro level, because tht shit was tense. Then you just get Resi 4 for the rest of it....

RIP

this wasn't a bad ST, but sometimes it plays more like a regular score and not a videogame score... Far from being the biggest issue of the game, though.

Can't understand the hate this game gets. It's very good, the best SH post Team Silent.
The ost is also great.

completely, 100% agree with you there. It's a little rough around the edges, technically speaking, but it has the closest atmosphere to the team silent ones, and the side missions and easter eggs were surprisingly great.

Rest in peace Daniel Licht

One of the most underrated composers of all time.
