Bergtatt and Nattens are very well known as some of the best bm albums ever so I’d say that’s pretty valuable but idk.
|
| |
"by value are you insinuating quality cause their metal era is still quality just their post metal era far surpasses it imo"
Well, quality doesn't inherently inform value. Sometimes it does, but my favourite meal can be prepared for under $20 and I like it more than caviar nah'm sayin?
Ulver's metal stuff may have been alright, I guess, but it didn't really add anything of value to the black metal scene at the time.
Also Bergtatt is fucking awful.

It’s not awful but that’s your opinion lol. I don’t think an awful album can be widely considered a classic by fans of the genre.
|
| |
But you guys are welcome to love Ulver's black metal stuff, y'know. They're alright for a budget meal.

"I don’t think an awful album can be widely considered a classic by fans of the genre."
We don't want to go down this road...
|
| |
well yes, that's how both quality and value work
|
| |
i mean half my favourite albums ever are of value to absolutely nobody so i'm not even using it as an insult really

even not liking bergtatt how could you say it has little value, didn't it inspire the entire atmospheric black metal genre
|
| |
i mean...not really? i'm sure it definitely influenced other bands but it was hardly the first or even most original in the style. I think Burzum is pretty widely acknowledged as being the most important in that respect
|
| |
i mean you got like manes, strid, burzum, fleurety, bethlehem, primordial, veles, isengard, moonspell, and like dozens of others all preceding bergtatt by a year or four

what am i thinking of, the agalloch nature vibe, i guess that's not really a genre. i suppose i don't mean atmospheric bm
|
| |
even then isengard and moonspell both better examples, even fenriz's other super gay band Storm
|
| |
I feel like Ulver were always regarded by T H E E L I T E as being piggy-backers
I really dislike Bergtatt though and always have, even when I was a black metal newbie and someone recommended it to me all the way back in like 2007? I think. I jammed it and it was SOOOOOO bOOORRRING and I still can't get over how boring it is.
Always been a big fan of Nattens tho. Very riffy.
