finally checking out the livestream album of this they did during the pandemic and while i wish they just kinda rerecorded it outright instead of fuckin leveler of all albums lol (as altho i appreciate jake trying to "hype up" the virtual crowd, it certainly sounds goofy as hell sometimes lmao) sounds pretty damn good and hearing these songs with jake and dustin's screams rocks. jake sounds pretty phenomenal on it

I saw them live once when this was their only album but sadly not with the original vocalist, Jake had already joined and they played one track from Messengers since it was coming out pretty soon. My memories are a bit vague but I remember them going hard and playing The Seventh Trumpet

This is how metalcore should sound, not the annoying screamo august burns red has turned into recently

Metalcore should be chad music like nu metal was before crappy bands ruined both, same can apply to hardcore to a lesser extent because it was never ruined just damaged

Do you even know what screamo is cause you throw around that label a lot to things that are far from it

"like nu metal was before crappy bands ruined both"
You literally have Path of Totality at a 4.5, don't even talk about nu metal being ruined

Screamo is something you don't want to be seen listening to because it's cringe and not cool. Chester Bennington for example never done screamo. Early August Burns Red was cool, Composure is nice

I only rated path of totality because I don't like Korn (except for one song on life is peachy), pot doesn't sound like Korn but I'll lower it to 4

The way I see it screaming in random stupid ways to add effect to the music is cringe, especially if you're not skilled enough to control your lame ass vocals like for example Chester Bennington was. You should add depth to the music with guitar, bass, drums, DJ scratching, electronic, piano whatever - you will counter and say DJ scratching has no place in metalcore that's too bad, even parkway drive did it on the slow surrender

What is uncontrolled about the vocals for ABR's new stuff?
|
| |
Album Rating: 3.5
It's just messy, theres no consistency to it. With old ABR you know how he sounds, and also had clean vocals in a hardcore style but they left that behind - why?
