“Really like this and Blue, though I wish this ended stronger than it does.“

Last track is one of the best here, totally perfect closer.

Lichtbringer, interesting. By far the weakest song for me.

Hmm, in listening again, what's with the band going full-on radio rock/metal, and then hitting the breaks after track 4? They had a great momentum going.

Yeah Chlorine and Wine pretty much singlehandedly bumps this up from a 4 for me

Y&G is their weakest by far but also their best produced albums.

I've actually gotta disagree there, the production on Y&G is incredible but I think Red is still the best they've ever sounded

While I like this album it sounds like Nickelback doing Saves The Day covers

I recently edited Gold & Grey and was able to wipe out most of the clipping and make the individual instruments and ambient effects more discernable as well. As it turns out, all that was needed was to reduce the annoying hiss by frequency smoothing (more explained on the Gold & Grey thread). Purple got the same exact treatment from me and, as I suspected, it worked better here because the final mixes of this were not as compressed as they were on G&G so there's a lot more dynamism (listen to "Desperation Burns" as a clear example).
