but in all seriousness album is great but vocals are often flat, enough that it sounds off and any possible aesthetic choice about it is discredited by the fact that they just straight up sound out of tune sometimes and it doesnt sound good and no amount of reverb is going to hide that. i know its probably what you are going for which is all fine and dandy but thats the one thing i think you need to work on (aside from watching how much u drench shit in reverb cuz there is a point where its too much). there is a difference from tasteful emulation of the flat, somewhat off singing inherent in a lot of music like this and just being so far off its distracting. thats all. otherwise great job, your guitarwork takes the spotlight as it did on that split with that lameballs yak guy.

oh and be careful with the ambience and the dronez, its pretty bold to start an album off with 3 minutes straight of aimlessly meandering ambient drone, if it was any longer you'd run the risk of giving listeners the wrong impression and turning them off, you almost lost my attention with that, it was just too early on. needed some more development and sense of purpose for that to be an effective intro

a perfect example of way too much reverb btw is on the vocals on "We can hear your hearts..." around the midway mark. the reverb on the vocals and that kick literally drown out what is possibly one of the most epic and satisfying guitar riffs on the entire album, and it doesnt help that the guitar is pretty centered in the mix while the reverb on the kick and vocals is panned farther to both sides which helps it envelope the riff further, it makes it less punchy and rewarding than it could have been imo

yeah guitars are by far the highlight

I understand what you are saying man and yeah it's definitely something i try to work on with the vocals, i do try to not make them the center point but often when mixing in a shitty room with shitty software (i upgraded my software literally just before the release) it can be hard. i'm not making excuses for flat singing however, that is all on me i just try to give most of it straight and try not to edit a lot of it which is why it ends up being far from perfect in terms of "polish". if i did a couple more takes of the vocals and tuned them a tad i'm sure they'd fit perfectly but that's not something i personally found has worked for this project. each to their own and all. i do have complaints with the mixing on this but there wasn't much more i could do to make it better hence it kinda being a "well here it is" kinda situation.

As Snox said the guitars and mood are more the center point of this project and this album. still glad you dig it and can find enjoyment in it.

Also forgot to mention this but thank you for taking the time to sit and give some very good constructive criticism, that actually means a lot.

just food for thought, i like your music quite a bit, your split with yak was dope too, thought it would be more helpful to be honest and give some criticism than to just say "this is good" and carry on. that being said i dont expect you to take everything i had to say to heart, it is your music and at the end of the day as long as u are makings something you are happy with thats awesome, just noting things i personally think you could work on to improve your music in the future, things not everyone would necessarily even agree with so thats all up to you!

Nah BM I prob won't end the project I'm just focusing on other things now.

That and ATM I'm not sure how much more I can do with this sound so its just finding refreshing things to do and getting that spark back because after this record I'm feeling pretty drained
