I mean the way everyone in this thread besides Crysis has heard the album.

um, i listened to lossless directly from a cd. not from an 'internet rip' or whatever you want to call it.

also i'm sure crysis can back me up on this one, promos can be pretty horrendous quality.

Poor quality promos baffle me. It happens more than you'd think.

Not sure what you're referencing but if you mean my comment on the first page about how "we" got a promo I mean sputnik got a promo and I dibbed it.

Internet leaks are notorious for being lower quality since they can be illegitimate and not always official. They can skip, be poor quality, and most commonly there's an extra 2 seconds of silence at the end of each song for some reason which probably means more deficiencies. I don't know much about promos, but if it's official from the band or label then it should be how the album is supposed to sound.

I have to say it is worse than Emerald Forest and the Blackbird. I have had little hope for this release, especially for 3 cd album. But there's nothing special on this album and it is kinda boring for me. The only song i liked from beginning is acoustic 6650N, 2840E. But it deserve 3 as a whole.

not the case. most artists don't actually have any idea about encoding, good sound quality etc. and it shows with the promos they send out. the worst thing is due to the bad reputation of metal music and audio quality, labels expect that zines etc. won't care about audio quality either so really bad quality promos are incredibly common.

i've actually had to discard promos before and download a leak simply because the leak was better quality than the promo. it's a nightmare.

Never would've guessed that about promos, I thought the artist or label just sent out the official album early. But leaks have sounded worse more often than not compared to the legitimate version (CD, iTunes Store or Amazon MP3, Spotify, etc.) and that extra two seconds at the end of each song that happens is also peculiar.

You or anyone who feels like rec'cing me funeral doom bands starter kit I'd appreciate it, since I know nothing about the genre but see it mentioned everywhere.

Check bands like evoken, dooom, scepticism and disembowelment for the start. Esoteric is another amazing band but they are a little different. There are a ton of other good bands in the genre that I could rec but thats enough for now I guess.

dont like the vocals on the third album so far. sound like he is trying way to hard to sound deep and evil like some kind of deathcore vocalist

First album I would give a 3.5 but the second and third albums are a strong 4.0. Overall, the effort was a little ambitious but it was a worthwhile listen.
