Bland emo music with a vocalist who is every little hipster boy/girls dream come true. Boring melodies..boring vocals with pretentiously abstract lyricism.

Literally everything about this album and the band is the exact opposite of what you just said

This grew on me a fair bit this weekend. Night Channels and Glass Coughs are terrific. I don't like how low-key the end of the album is, but I can't complain much about it. The whole album is pretty laid back.

The second half of this is so good, shame that the first half isn't though.

While I did enjoy this, I feel like the band could be more dynamic, seems at times they are only able to write 1 song.

LOL watching the fantano review rn...first thing he complains about is the "nasally, whiny" vocals like he's never listened to an emo album before. Dealer is nowhere near a 3/10

I mean I kinda get it if you don't think the instrumentation is THAT special, but these are some of the strongest vocals I've ever heard...

Yeaaaah, that's my first encounter with a Fantano review and it was garbage. I bet he listened to this as background music one time and then turned on the camera. I don't see all these post-rock rip-offs of which he speaks, but to each their own. I'm really starting to dig this.

The vocals didn't really interest me either for the most part. There were some really good moments like 'Night Channels' and 'Glass Coughs' but in the end the overall tone that he brings in the album has been done before.

The vocals are superb on this, they aren't even overly whiny compared to a lot of the stuff in the genre. In fact I would say he has one of the best voices in emo at the moment.

yeah honestly there are a lot of other emo vocalists that could be dissed for being too "whiny" but Conor isn't one of them. Also I usually respect Fantano's opinions but for this album it seemed like he had only listened to the album once or twice. Calling the instrumentation "generic" and the vocals "whiny" are very general criticisms that don't really validate the score he gave.

Oh well, rant over. I'm glad at least Sputnik enjoys this album
