You def should Con, much as enjoy Halcyon I think it’s a bit overrated in their discog (in that they have other albums that are just as great)

Microcastle and HD are their clear peak imo but yeah everything after is still great and important too

HD is so clearly their best album. Monomania is underrated tho

I should probably give this a listen but for some reason “snakeskin” turned me off so much

Breaker, Take Care, Snakeskin, Carrion, are all wonderful off this.

Huh, I love "Snakeskin". In fact it's the first few songs on this that I find the weaker. The second half is quirkier and that's the way I like my Deerhunter.

I remember I slapped a 4.5 on this when I first reviewed it, I still think it's 4/5 good.
I'd like to think these dudes can be trusted to release something decent in 2019 so will maybe peep a listen in advance.
Also - anyone who hasn't seen this band live in an indoor venue (festival wouldn't cut it) - do so. Seen them twice, amazing performances both times.

Yeah I’ve seen them do Microcastle, Halcyon digest, and Monomania material live, respectively, the last being at a festival and with cox’s preferred wiry guitar sound for that album, still good, but the first two shows were awesome. I got a picture with cox lol

I saw them supporting Halcyon and this one - they beefed up and hyper extended the songs from this album in the live setting big time

Oh, I'm excited for you all to hear this new record, it's a trip and a half.
I mean, it'll probably rank near the bottom of their discography, but then again, I don't think the band gives a fuck and that's very enjoyable in itself.
