This album is a pretty nice listen but I do kinda agree with the review. This album isn't totally varied and it feels like one long song in separate movements.

But yeah it is pretty weird up here haha. I live in a part of the state where people drive tractors on the main roads, no joke.

Jamming this now. Doubt I'm gonna end up digging it more than Roads, but it's great stuff as expected.

Sweet review but the real question is... banjo?

yes every song has a banjo, you probably shouldnt listen to it, it's actually composed entirely of distorted banjos, even the drums

v good album. I think this is about on par with Roads, even though this album is lacking some of the variation Roads had

"it's actually composed entirely of distorted banjos, even the drums"
I'd listen to that.

Nice review. What a great album. Lunn is insanely talented. I'm glad he and Panopticon exist.

hey atari, just a tiny fyi:
On the 6th full length from Kentucky’s impressively prolific musician, this isn’t an issue in the slightest.
he actually moved to minnesota before recording Roads. it's a small technicality but it can be argued that roads was his farewell letter to his home state so he's no longer "Kentucky's" prolific musician
just a nitpick :]

Undoubtedly his best album since Collapse. And a welcome positive note in an otherwise shitty day.

i think the bluegrass elements are used in a terrible way on kentucky

The bluegrass elements are almost entirely gone here. If you're wanting to give it a try just jam sleep to the sound of the waves crashing first. If that doesn't convince you I'm not sure what will haha. Such an amazing track

nope it's 100% bluegrass, nonstop pan flutes and banjo breakdowns, don't listen to it
