Yeah, it's one of those bands that were harmed by Led Zeppelin's overhype.

Zeppelin definitely had the potential

The technical skills were certainly there, and they were pretty much perfect when they dared to go with a more original style (No Quarter, Achilles, Kashmir, Dazed and Confused, etc)

isn't Dazed a rip off? I dig bands who use "influences" but not just rip off, love Zep anyway, almost every body rips off other bands, as long as you make it your own or give love to the band being ripped off im fine with it. Speaking of LC's debut, Everybodys Clown is one of their best

Dazed is a recognized cover, so not plagiarism on it I think

ok, permission from the creator would be a recognized cover, otherwise rip off regardless of how close or not the material is

I love Dylan and most of his stuff from pre 65 was rip off of early folk tunes from the collection that folkways put out, but since they were considered "traditional" and had no know author he was good to go, truly eerie when you listen to it, just tweaked the lyrics for a modern audience

I don't know if they got actual permission from the original autor but I doubt most covers do

Thing is they've never tried to make it as if they created it

But they really made an awesome version with an amazing, heavy sound

Have to disagree with the claim that their forst two records don’t flow well. Yes, I’m just a Rock ‘N’ Roll Singer is a misguided mess, but the forst two are both excellent.

The first LC album jams I don’t see a let down on side 2, Groupues does have a let down or 2 but still a fine album
