From the Kettle Onto the Coil is probably my least favorite Deafheaven song

I would call this their best release at this point. They've finally stepped away from the screamo elements. "Baby Blue" is the definite highlight.

Nah it rules.

weird i think baby blue is their most interesting song to date.
people who rate this 1:
"Deafheaven? These metal "IMPOSTORS"? NO CORPSEPAINT? NO LONG HAIR? SHOEGAZE AND BLACK METAL? FUCKING SACRILEGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
when you are a music nazi it's likely to be that in other aspects aswell

Baby Blue is best here yeah.

Absolutely. It focuses on the riff and basic composition instead of layering texture on texture.

Everyone seems to be bitching about how bad the solo is when in reality it's not all that bad at all, at least not to me idk.

@someguest
i actually didnt quite listened to it before. but its the most growing one. how the 2 guitars are harmonizing with each other in this one is tremendous and astounding
|

I'm just happy these guys could write a focused metal album. You cut out the outros of the tracks and that's what it is. They're not trying to please the entire musical community on this one.

listening to sunbather after this kind of makes sunbather unfocused i must admit

Sunbather is still an amazing album, but I just really dig what they went for here. Never thought this would surpass it, but it has.
Just gotta see if it holds up over time, which it seems like it will.
