"That's what, like 12 comments per day? Do the math. Regardless, that's a lot of time over such a long period..."
Actually it'd only be 8 comments per day and you have to realize that it's not like it's an even amount every day, some long discussions/debates can generate up to 100 comments a day, where as on other days I may not even comment once.
Plus if you think my comment ratio is high check this guy out: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/user/KILL

what a silly conversation when there are so many users (including me) who have commented more than ars over shorter periods of time

said the person who said Tago Mago was "pretty good but not great" ;) lol
|

I'm infinitely better at math than you.
|
| |
haha i said it was "pretty good" for the record. haven't listened to it in a while anyway

Marinatchae for most unnecessarily pugnacious user 2k15

I got an A in college Calculus 1...pretty sure division and finding averages were prerequisites ;)
|
| |
Tago Mago rules though...I learned that while taking Calculus for sure haha
|
| |
i probably heard it last over 2 years ago so yeah i'll recheck it soon.
|
| |
Yeah, I'm willing to bet you didn't take advanced Calculus though, right? Shit, Trig is even harder than Calc

So no one wants to actually talk about Soundtracks? That's a shame, it's a good album : )
|
| |
I've heard "Mother Sky" and that's it. I definitely want to check the rest soon. I hear good things about Monster Movie too, but as a big fan of Suzuki this seems like the best place to continue.
@Marinatchae I didn't, but both use Trig as a base.

| |
Monster Movie is underrated. Everyone says the first and last tracks are the only good ones but the other two songs amazing as well.
|
| |
Monster Movie is great. Velvet Underground influence for days.
Good review! Good record! Good trolling in the comments!

never thought of Soundtracks as their studio album. even according to wikipedia:
"the back cover of the album states: ""CAN SOUNDTRACKS" is the second album of THE CAN but not album no. two [...] Album no. two [Tago Mago] will be released in the beginning of 1971.""
definitely wouldn't agree they play it safe here as well. obviously can were a young band at the time and the album's variety proves that they were searching rather than engaging in routine.

It's only diverse because Mooney and Suzuki are on the same album, other than that it's pretty safe. It's not a bad thing, but that does keep it from being up there with their best work.

I like this a lot. Deadlock and Mother Sky are the best stuff here.
She Brings The Rain is just boring.
