“I feel quite happy with the album, I don’t feel like this is Tesseract’s best moment, I feel like the best is yet to come… We’ve got a long term plan and it’s exciting to think of where the music might go next”.- Daniel Tompkins

Sounds like a dude who likes the record, and yet is grounded in reality enough to realize that there will be other albums in the future that are even better. Calm down folks.

The ambiance is used tastefully and naturally, every track is pretty steller to me

The drumming is the highlight for me but that goes for pretty much any Tesseract record

I just realized that the album art for Sonder is the Solar System

Sure is, would be a good sound track to Intersteller or Gravity if you ask me

Only discovered this band today. And what I heard sounds pretty sweet. Which album should I start with?

either One or Altered State

I'm slowly warming up to Sonder, still find a good chunk of it boring though.

That's actually a really tricky question. The progression of TesseracT in my opinion is...

One: Right in that early 10's djent sound. A lot of Messugah worship and some cool grooves but a lot of songs (besides Concealing Fate) lack direction.

Altered State: Like One but a lot more ambiance and atmosphere. The whole album plays like one song.

Polaris: Most accessible album. Still a lot of great grooves but written with the intention of each song being its own standalone idea, rather than a part to a whole. Their most focused and concise album.

King is one of the best song's literally one of the best opening points in their whole discography, not disappointing in the slightest

Never fear, dudes. I realised that their Odyssey album is live. Normally that's the best way to get into a band for me and I'm digging it. One and Altered State are pretty bitchin' as well.

Three good songs in, I am pretty excited tbh especially because the other material seem to be a little different. A little diversity can only be a good thing

Luminary suuuuuuuuucks, it's such a weak opener especially for a band like this.

Survival though. One of my favourite songs of theirs.
