"the Kenny G of groove metal"
perfect descriptor for this band

I have been listening the album, I think it's great but too atmospheric, I was expecting more metal tracks like the first song.

They were trying to be heavy, but not too heavy. Kind of feels like they couldn't decide between One and Altered State so they tried to do both. Hopefully they'll have it figured out next album.

And ideally that means something a little closer to Altered State / recent Skyharbor. Blissful subtle melody + groove + atmosphere is what they need to be dedicating themselves too. The glimpses of it on Polaris were wonderful.

album is pretty meh but these guys sound great live

They have a great future musically though. First time I listen to a band with 7 string guitars doing something complex and mellowed

So anyone see the Instagram tease? New single in a couple days? I thought that could be premature, but I guess I missed articles back in April where they confirmed they were working on a new album.

I'm really hoping it's a new single, maybe leading up to an album release date.

That would be very cool! I am really interested in where they take their sound with this one.

Indeed, judging by that really short audio snippet they put out there might be a noticeable change in direction.

New song is pretty standard, little heavier than this album. I dig it though!

First four songs off this are killer, and then the last 5 are good enough that the album still holds up strong and I don't leave it with any resentment.

yeah but Smile is so fucking catchy, and those fleeting ominous vibes, I really missed that sort of sound with Tesseract
