They were more trash as a deathcore band honestly. As far as this album and Amo go, I can't think of many offensively bad songs besides True Friends and Mantra



The metalcore route is the sweet spot for them, and it sounds like they're somewhat returning to that style on Post Human.

They're so inconsistent. Yea the deathcore days were awful, but Amo is not good at all and has so many cringe moments. I defend this album because at its worst its just an inoffensive buttrock album but at least its catchy. They were on the cusp of something really special with There is A Hell tho. Their most recent album is just another 3 to me.

I think most of the hate comes from the "MeTaLcOrE iS nOt ReAl MeTaL *insert homophobic slur here*" or any other variation on Metal elitist neckbeards hating the genre (the same thing can be said for the hate other bands in the genre got) and then bringing up how some obscure black metal or death metal band only 5 people know is real metal. And now its the concept of a metal band shifting away from that style (remember everyone calling this album a 'twinny pop abum'? lmao)
