edit: im rlly feelin the new song but not gonna judge it until i can hear it properly rather than just thru some person's garbage all in one turntable

didnt album announcements used to be like 6 months before the album release back in like 2010 and earlier? i feel like at some points in the past decade i noticed that announcements got way closer to release dates (maybe around the same time release drops became a thing?)
You all know the new album is gonna be fucking glorious.
tbh i never know with the wonder years cuz based on the particular style of pop punk they play, i group them in with the totally lame brand of pop punk like state champs and neck deep and shit, even though twy is unbelievably consistent and head and shoulders above almost any band in any circle of pop punk (even, like, orgcore pop punk). so in my mind because they play such a lame brand of pop punk that teeters on the edge of being a fuckin cliche, they could fall over that edge at any time if they dont do that sound right. fortunately they seem to have a remarkable sense of taste to dance on the edge of cheesy pop punk and smart songwriting, so they're 4-for-4 so far. but with sister cities it sounds like they're incorporating some different sounds on the new album, so this could be the time where they finally become a cliche (band/songwriter trying to "branch out" their cheesy sound but just drawing on really obvious elements from other styles resulting in an insanely cheesy, musically ignorant sounding album).
