ok, here's some feedback:

beat-konducting

am I missing something here or should it be "conducting"

overall, first paragraph is good. I do think it could be improved by removing the first person a bit. i.e. remove "for your ear's sake, I hope so," the "I've heard" from "in a long while," etc. it's OK as-is but it does feel just a touch casual in an unhelpful way. still, though, it sets a nice stage.

that is so distinctly Stones Throw.

remove the "so"

that resonate a smooth, laid-back vibe

I don't think "resonate" can be used in that way. maybe "resonates with a smooth..."?

but those patient enough to experience the “collaged potency” that these vignettes produce, will find that the music does leave a long-lasting impression.

remove the comma

rest of the review looks aight to my eyes

overall, this is good. I definitely see some rust - it reads a little awkwardly in places and dips into the first person a bit too much for my liking - but it's definitely a decent review, even if I know that your next review will be way better haha. I will say that first person occasionally works, but it has to be structured in a way that makes the review impossible without that perspective (see Chan's Bangerz review). either go whole hog or don't do it at all IMO

thank you for the criticism/comments. youre the best. ill take care of the necessary edits soon. i kept rewriting this (going from first person/colloquial tone to something more "formal" so to speak) and eventually just kind of combined bits of the two. im still polishing my writing overall and trying to find a more conversational style. ill be sure to read more stuff that do the style well.

oh and the "beat konducta" was a reference to the way madlib spelled it in his series of albums of the same name.

I don't know. This had a lot of cool spots, but every song just felt like an unfinished sketch and the album overall felt very very samey and didn't hold my attention. I like his approach stylistically and definitley think he's got talent but this wasn't really for me.

"but every song just felt like an unfinished sketch"

That's pretty normal for instrumental hip-hop of this kind.

I know it sounds like I'm agreeing with your criticism but it's not really a criticism for me because this kind of music is generally defined by short 'sketches' and ideas that could be developed further but are often left in a way that makes the album more like a beat sketchbook (to go along with that analogy)

Liked the review a lot. Only stylistic gripe, and it's tiny is I thought:

" Knxwledge is brilliant at what he does, no doubt about it, but the album’s hold on the listener does fluctuate in strength over time. Knowledge’s aptitude as a composer is impressive, yes, but he tends to return to the same creative well over and over again..."

sounded a bit weird. Redundant appositive phrases I guess.

Pretty standard in terms of the sound/style, yes, but done well enough to fall between the 3.5 - 4 range for me.

Even if he's not that original in style, I find this guy refreshingly distinctive.

The Adult Swim Knxwledge/Sweatshirt collab single from this year was sweet. Waiting for him and .paak to drop the NxWorries album.
