I have actually heard Sabbath's first six albums, which are excellent. Don't know why I haven't listened to Maiden though.

Maiden have been my favourite band for about 9 years now.

That said, TBOS is my 2nd favouite album of theirs, right behind Brave New World.

Maiden has been my favorite heavy metal band for 25 years.....with that, this is already falling off for me and won't crack the top 10

Moon dude you have quite a unique taste when it comes to Maiden.....not in a bad way of course, just different

where do TNOTB, POM, and P stack up for you?

TNOTB is somewhere in the middle. However since it has my all time favourite song on it, I can't call it one of the worst. Powerslave is my least favourite of the 80s Dickinson releases- I find it starts off great then just sorta takes a dip until Back in the VIllage.

POM, though, is an undisputed classic. The moment where the band truly came into their own.

SIT and SSOASS are the two flawless ones of the 1980s IMO. Just pure perfection from start to finish.

Also am glad to say I saw 12 Maiden England tour shows including their two huge UK festival appearances (Download- 25 years of Maiden at Donington, and Sonisphere Knebworth), and their first ever gig in Luxembourg so some real experiences were had

I really REALLY cannot wait to hear these tracks live. Apparently Bruce said on Eddie Trunk's live show last night that they're gonna throw some "surprises" in there, meaning both that the band is gonna do some stuff they haven't in a while, and take some "regulars" out.

Consider me stoked.

It's stayed with me since the first listen.

I also will admit I bawled my eyes out on the first few listens of Empire and I still get emotional every time.
