i dislike his ratings i feel like he low balls great albums & he praises a lot of mediocre albums but i can't help but like Cal i still like to watch his videos for his opinions.

Lately, Fantano has been praising a lot of mediocre to shit stuff and knocking really quality stuff. I've never agreed with him 100%, but yeah lately it's gotten sparse.

Always liked Anthony's reviews, dude's pretty eloquent with expressing shit and doesn't really sway to the general consensus if he disagrees with it. I just don't see why he feels the need to try and be funny as well.

I think I'd have more of a problem with the album if Anthony/cal was charging money for this. I doubt he put effort into this album, and luckily enough it is priced accordingly. Not worthy of critical praise, ofc. But by extension, I'm not really sure its necessary to critically evaluate this album at all. Thoughts?

I rarely find myself agreeing with him, but I still think he's got a lot of interesting perspectives to bring to the table as a reviewer.

Personally I think the "joke" is that the album itself even exists. I dunno if it's worth rating. Just seems like fanservice to me rather than a legitimate product.

I do like "Cocoa" though.

I watched TND very often back in late 2010-early 2011, and I got into loads of artists and bands through his channel during that time-span (Death Grips, Reks, Deafheaven, Titus Andronicus...etc). That being said, Cal has always annoyed me and this sounds equally as annoying.

I actually find Fantano to be very on point with his criticisms, but I'll still check out a decent to strong 4 if he explains things that would appeal to me if not necessarily to him.
I don't get the whole 'I don't like him as a reviewer because he likes shit I don't like' and vice versa thing, surely that's not the point - he at least backs up what he says eloquently, and I'm always interested in his opinions.
