There’s something about that stupid little drum break in Cult Band that gets me so amped. Nothing interesting or unexpected happens, it’s just the same quasi-pogo beat just chugging away for literally 3 seconds and it makes me wanna run headfirst into a telephone pole. I can’t explain it

That's the kind of thing that makes me go crazy at punk gigs. It's just the smallest touch but adds this dynamism to the song by reintroducing you to the beat even though it's always been there. Sometimes the beauty of punk is the straightforward aggression and simplicity. Caveman shit.
