I'll prob get flamed for this but imo the Black Album, Load, and ReLoad are three of the very few albums from the 90s that still 100% hold up today and haven't aged one bit soundwise... mostly because even today most mainstream metal that isn't nu metal is essentially just streamlined 90s Metallica

Ehh yeah you might be right about ReLoad, the edgier tracks (Prince Charming, Bad Seed, Atttitude etc.) sound pretty fucking 90s lol... although I def think "Fuel" sounds just as fresh now as it did when I was five.

objectivity score is overrated. I mean how often do you look for music you think you'll dislike? I usually listen to albums cause I think i might like them therefore my rating will usually be more positive than negative

Agreed

The objectivity score shouldn't exist imo. What does it even mean? I'm still a noob here :S

haha all good bro. Its just a coefficient that reflects how often you rate albums positively versus negatively. So the idea is that the closer to 3/5 your average ratings are the more objectivity you display. Makes no sense and I agree it shouldn't exist and I've been on Sputnik for like 9 years (multiple accounts over the years)

Thanks man. Now I understand why my objectivity increased when I 3.5'd D-Day

And then it decreased when I started to 4.5 any superb shit =(

if they had cut the fat and just kept the best songs from this and Load (i.e. 70% of Load and 30% of this), it would've been a fantastic album.

Metallica is truly the Led Zeppelin of their generation, in terms of "ripping off" other bands. early on it was Black Sabbath and Diamond Head, then in the 90s they unabashedly ripped off Pepper-era COC for the Load/ReLoad albums.

still a top 5 metal band ever and probably the best American metal band of all time.

yeah but people aren't still mad at LZ for music they made several decades ago

That's because Metallica were such massive sell out assholes for such a longggggg time

LZ also didn't release a documentary showing them bitching for 2 hours

This album doesn't meme as hard as St. Anger, but at least this has some melodies and songs that aren't offensively bad imo
