^I've honestly come to the point where I think that's one of their best songs. Kind of crazy how good it is.

had a second full listen of this last night and yep - half of this is among the best the band has ever done and half of it is just super underwritten boredom where the intro is good and then the rest of the song is just ok

what the fuck : (

We Were Dead is pretty comparable. It has some filler (as does Good News for that matter). Spitting Venom is fucking phenomenal

Good News' ratio of filler:non-filler is matched only by its front-loadedness tbqh

Yeah man, first three tracks and The View are fantastic, the rest is mostly pretty throwaway for me. This is in fact maybe my least favorite MM album.

Only songs on here I don’t care for as much are Black Cadillacs and Float On (and Float On only cause it got played to absolute fucking death and it’s too straightforward to hold up under the ad nauseam treatment)

Yeah One Chance is ok, but never really grabbed my attention.

Here’s thing. The World at Large, Float On and Ocean Breathes Salty are all superior to anything on the new album, but I somehow enjoy the new album more as a front to back listen.

It’s about time that I revisit both, maybe I’ll change my mind. Tbh I’ve bony listened to the new one 4 or 5 times, and haven’t listened since the release
