could be because that song meanders away from the albums story for bit, it kind of serves as a backstory of sorts, Silent Flight Parliament is the GOAT dont care what anyone says

no the whole album up until that point is a blur musically is what I'm saying, it hasn't interested me yet and I usually quit because I find I could be listening to something better

parallax really isn't doing it for me, it sounds like they made a longer colors without being as interesting imo

yeah it's not happening, half of melting city was good but pretty much parallax is a snooze throughout

it feels the most like a disjointed collection of riffs than anything else in their discography and that gets old really quickly. lay your ghosts to rest is so spazzy for what I feel is the sake of just being proggy and that carries throughout the whole album

it's not for me, I can't do that kinda prog anymore lol. I'd rather listen to swim to the moon 4 times or listen to this album

I still haven't listened to this, somehow.

I heard it was similar to Opeth with Heritage. Just straight-up dropping extreme metal elements to fulfill some sort of childhood obsession with 70's prog.

Is it as jarring?

they toned back on the progressive death metal thing they did for 4 albums and an EP straight so it's a nice change

I found misdirect other than swim to the moon and desert of song starting to get a little stale, and then parallaxes are not very interesting to me because it's more of the same following in the vein of alaska and colors

I've been listening to this album a lot over the past month or so and it really grew on me, it's become a favorite

I did end up giving it a listen, and I liked it. Didn't love it, but it was fine.
