Fluorescent green sock on the left foot, fluorescent pink on the right. Brooks trainers with the tounge folded over. Sun visor hat, VW scirocco parked up outside the ice-cream parlour before I head off down to the cinema to watch lost boys and buy some hair spray and luminous friendship bracelets along with them snap bracelet things.
packet of fish and chips crisps and a can of top-deck to wash it down before watching the footy and getting me head kicked in on the terraces.
Nope, it doesn't matter how 80s I get I just don't get this.

you watched the videos for it yet?
It's a weird one, it's like Bowie's 'Let's Dance' dragged across the globe through brothels, war zones, jungles, financial headquarters, the American dust bowl, South American shanty huts and good ol' London town.
It makes sense to me, it really does sound like flying around the world 'stood on the wing of a jet'

Fuck that, this is how I roll.

I think in retrospect Johnson knew the world was getting smaller and this is the album that sums that up, and that's probably the one thing that defines every single way the world has changed since the late 80's.
Pretentious enough? :D
I used to love those books. I've got a mate who still reads them and he's in his forties now

Why do I always think of Holly Johnson? I think it's the whole Hanky Panky cowboy hat thing.

When it comes to 80s fashions I forgot about the obligatory rolled up sleeve white t-shirt number..
Love the car, nice to see PJ Harvey making an appearance at the end there :D

Hell yeah, definitely. It is its own whacky world. I really adore the artwork to this too; I feel like it represents the music perfectly in visual form. The entire experience of this having this tiny peek (the cover art) into the world of this crazy auditory landscape is really powerful and dreamlike. I love it.

Love the fact you regard this so highly, where would you rank it among your all time favourites?
Sorry if I've asked before but have you watched all the videos for the album?

ive seen a few of the vids, idk if i have seen every one. ill have to rewatch, i really only remember the one for infected. and this is top 15 favorite albums ever for sure, no doubt. i dig the fact that in addition to simply being a perfectly realised artistic vision, it is ambitious as well some of the funnest music i can think of.
