Yeah, at the very least, you'd expect the third guitarist to bring more atmosphere to the tracks.
I remember when they teased the announcement of DBD, and they used the intro track as their promo for the teaser. I thought the album was heading toward that kind of sound, and it sounded great.
Then we got this...

When you consider that there are bands out there with one sole guitarist that have infinitely better atmosphere and guitar textures too..

Can't argue; they bring nothing to the table with three guitarists right now.
Hopefully this new album is the one we should have got last time.

Supposedly it features the most 'difficult' playing they've ever done so maybe there is hope.

I'll believe it when I hear the product. It's all hyperbole at this point to sell pre-orders. lol

Well Ben wrote pretty much the entire album save for the intro and outro and 'Never Again' so that's probably why this is the way it is.

Aye, I remember you saying. And if the intro was written by the band, then it could mean really great things for this new LP.

the intro and outro were both written by Rauch

Ember's prob going to be another hard 3 like the rest of the discog. Though the idea of a heavier three guitars driven BB is kinda cool

The idea IS cool. It's just whether or not Burnley just decides to actually follow through with it or just makes the same damn album all over again. Again.

"BREAKING BENJAMIN will release its new single, "Red Cold River", on January 5, 2018. The song is taken from the band's sixth album, "Ember", which will be released later next spring."

Oh fuck I'm so hyped. This'll be the first album that the new members of Breaking Benjamin will have written the songs along with Benjamin Burnley

^agreed, i'm pumped.
went to see them live several months ago.. i'm a little pissed that Ben doesn't do all the singing anymore. like i don't really care about these new peeps essentially doing official karaoke while ben 'rests' just a few feet away.
if your voice can't make it through an entire show, then cut it down - quality vs quantity. but i want ben singing 100% of the time.

"Can Ben really not make it through a live performance anymore?"
nope, when i saw them i'd say at least a third of the songs he didn't end up singing. enough to be heavily noticeable

I always thought this band was a Three Days Grace/Nickelback kinda thing. Am I wrong and should give them a listen?
