New album is a slight disappointment, but man those last two songs are just so good.

Every successive album has been weaker than the last one since bilateral. Haven't heard the new one yet

I like that you can actually hear the bass on the new album

Fucking hell Einar is obsessed with Staccato riffs now. 80% of the album has jagged guitarwork

My favourite Leprous record, the drumming and vocals are just so amazing.

I think this album should get more recognition.

I find Malina to be more enjoyable, but this is very good! Just a little too long though

Both are so different I don't even compare them.

The drumming on Within my Fence alone makes this the best Leprous album for me.

This grew on me. It's probably as good as Malina

My biggest gripe with this is the lenght. All songs are great.

Malina does not suffer from this and the songs are a little more diverse. I still prefer Malina, but this band seems to be just very consistent. I need to check Coal next

Coal is better to me than The Congregation, which kinda matches Malina. Coal was my intro to this band, so take everything I say with a grain of salt. It is more diverse to me and atmospheric. Einar's vocals sound better and there's crazy instrumentation at places (see t/t). Then, there's the FUCKING EPIC closer Contaminate Me, with guest vocals from Ihsahn. The intenisty and extremity of the voice, combined with the awesome violin solo at the end is just amazing.

Coal would be better if there weren't these annoying "aaahaaa aha aaahaaa" (https://youtu.be/D61fSxqBLwc?t=3m2s) passages for a couple of minutes in nearly every song.

Coal is really good, just listened to it. This band is on a damn high level.

Are Tall Poppy Syndrome, Aeolia and Silent Waters as good as their other stuff?
