What I get from your review is that while you do highlight on good aspects, you are very narrow minded and don't look at the big picture of the album as a whole. Saying is has shotty production couldn't be more far from the truth.
As a writer, you are entitled to your own opinion, and you encourage criticism, yet you fight back immaturely if someone says your work is inaccurate or needs improving.

Here comes all the Zedd fanatics trolling this review and how they think they know EDM 😂
|
| |
I have yet to hear a decent Zedd song tbh
|
| |
good review in general but the commenter who's saying Bumble Bee isn't dubstep is right, it's house. not a huge zedd fan so chances are I won't be checking this
|
| |
You thought clarity was uninspired? I thought it was really good.
|
| |
yeah personally the only song I like from Zedd is Stay The Night and that got old after about 10 listens

i wonder if maybe bumble bee is still house, definitely, but has obvious dubstep influences to the point that it's the dubsteppiest track on the album, and thus the reviewer felt the easiest way to explain this was to call it a venture into dubstep?
normally i'm all for dick-stroking genre arguments but come fucking on he wasn't calling it dubstep. he said it was "a venture into," aka "it isn't dubstep but it's in that direction"
|
| |
yeah true, the "venture into" part is a lot more elastic than just saying "it's dubstep". I don't hear a whole lot of dubstep influence on it but maybe that's just me, and tbh genres are usually pretty stupid anyway

Luck, I encourage constructive criticism. I get that all the time, I don't get criticism that is with no merit or just plain immature. Your comments are the case, and so I take yours as irrelevant. I do listen to feedback, but I'm not gonna accept shit that you say because I don't agree with your opinion. I don't have to explain because I'm pretty sure everyone knows by now I take feedback and I embrace it when it isn't in a asshole fashion i.e yours.

Okay, so apparently you'll only take criticism from people who agree with you, is that it? That's a really good way of getting feedback.. You don't have to agree with me, that was never the means, it was to expose that you should look at the big picture. A reviewer should be an unbiased as possible, giving a good consecutive analysis of an album, and I just sensed a lot in yours. Don't try to swing it back on me because I didn't write it did I. Cheers.

Couldn't have agreed more with daniel and Asdfp.
I'm definitely unbiased when it comes to reviewing Luck, that I can agree with. I've always written with that mindset, hell I wrote an album about an artist that I happened to be a massive fan of and I gave their new album a less than stellar rating with my review. That's what you have to do, and for me because I intend to become a music journalist/critic, that's basic rule #1.
Just because your artist got a shitty rating doesn't mean you can get on my case because I disagreed with you massively. I take feedback from all sides, definitely not with those who've agreed me all the time either. I've gotten feedback that wasn't in an asshole tone, like yours, that brought up points/mistakes that I made that have benefited me in future reviews. I'm sure you can write a better review 😂

"With already a plethora of EDM releases in 2015, Zedd's latest release comes in as the worst release of its kind so far"
Someone didn't listen to Galantis' self titled EP
|

I see your True Colors, and that's why I hate you, Zedd.

I have that self titled EP actually Cl0ver. That came out last spring, and I agree with you undoubtedly. There were only two decent songs on there. I'm actually reviewing Pharmacy next month, Galantis' debut album so stay tuned my friend!
