Was looking forward to this from the time I heard Sagres... I didn't want another album of just him-and-his-guitar-only barebones folk, just like I don't mind that Frank Turner plays with a full band now and is gaining worldwide recognition.

Dudes are talented and are more than allowed to branch out their sound. This album is gorgeous.

Suffers from the same problems as Jose Gonzalez's newest record.

Sorry but I dont see how adding a bunch of extra instrumentation equates to matsson "progressing as an artist".

Liking this a lot, probably more than some of his other stuff actually.

"A necessary and timely expansion for The Tallest Man on Earth"

That's exactly what this is.

All I can do is feel sorry for you people who can't see the brilliance of this album. You frame your opinion of this album as some complex and nuanced thing, but the fact is: you simply don't get it. You lack the capability to understand it. I listen to this, and I feel deep emotion and a sense of understanding. It's a classic album, to me.
