This doesn't touch Get Disowned, but it's quality. I think what gives Get Disowned the edge is the raw emotion and rough around the edges production. This is pretty calculated in comparison.

She is such an outstanding vocalist, can't say I have heard many with as much power and strain as hers.

First of all, Laments is the best on Get Disowned, I didn't think that was a question. The title track and Tibetan Pop Stars are right behind it though.

I think this is the more consistent release. I really enjoy every track with Waitress and Happy To See Me being my current favorites.

It's also a tad disappointing that Sister Cities has been out for a pretty long time now. It would have felt like a stronger chorus if that wasn't the case. Still a wonderful track though.

Album is great. Not a bad song on it, and each song gets better with each listen. Seems like "Powerful Man" is the clear stand-out track to me.

The title track was the best on Get Disowned. I liked the more raw feel of the album than the slightly more polished Painted Shut. And GD had a couple songs I never got into (Some Grace, Trouble Found Me)... so it's tough to say one is better than the other at this point

I swear that every week at least one album that is part of the free singles on iTunes ends up having a review featured here.

And a PSA: Their (her) stuff before Get Disowned doesn't get nearly as much attention, and it is a bit of hit or miss for me, but please make sure you listen to the song Second Name (some places it's called Second Voice)... probably their best song in my opinion

I can't imagine liking any song they ever write more than Tibetan Pop Stars, but I'm stoked to hear this.

Just listened to the other one again. Definitely more different than I thought, but it's still the same song.
