I think i remember space jester calling CoL discount ISIS in some thread recently and i thought it was based

CoL is certainly the beefier band, but sometimes they end up lumbering. I feel similarly about Amenra and later Efrafa. I think that's why Isis consistently keeps me coming back, while the others are a more occasional spin.

I struggle to get into post-metal in general and the CoL that I’ve tried kinda falls into a lot of the traps that I don’t love about the genre. I haven’t heard them all tho

That’s the thing is that CoL is post-metal and ISIS is just ISIS

Gimme post metal that isn’t afraid to play fast sometimes and strays away from generic 4/4 chugging climaxes

Crossing over with drone and/or noise is also a major +

also speaking of Kehlvin, they’re a criminally overlooked post-hardcore/sludgecore band that had a record last year.

"kehlvin and rorcal - ascension"
SOMEBODY SAID IT. IT'S SO GOOD.

Damn I haven’t heard of Kehlvin but the aesthetic of those albums covers is instantly appealing
|
