Agreed, their songwriting improved a lot from Undertow to Aenima

Yeah they're basically a different band starting with Aenima in a lot of ways

I heard that Pushit was written with Paul though. Maybe some other songs off Aenima as well?

Undertow cuts to the chase with no bullshit, this has too many spots that drag on unnecessarily but doesn’t keep me interested like Lateralus does

where does it drag on

“where does it drag on”

The “why can’t we just admit it” riff on Vicarious gets old pretty fast, Jambi is pretty unexciting, both Wings for Marie are a bit patience-testing since they sound so similar, and Rosetta Stoned doesn’t go through enough ideas to justify its length

Disagree on all counts, especially on Jambi (ok, I’ll give you that WFM drags a little in spots during part 1, but part 2 is perfect). Some of the interludes are lame and I don’t really like The Pot that much, but everything else is top notch.

I subconsciously dislike The Pot after seeing how much damn praise it got by the fan-base. I mean, it's good, but it's not THAT good. All the damn covers of it on Youtube, too.

It's considerably weaker than anything else they've done but overall, this is still a great listen. Structure wise and idea-wise it's just a bit boring at times.

I don’t really dislike this album but all the others are just way more enjoyable to me
