I wonder if their bassist leaving the band today will do anything to their musical direction, maybe less songs with vocals?

I just got into Math rock in 2014 and Chon was the first band the stood out of the pack for me. I listen to the demos many times and waited for this album. Album sound is beautiful, the recording is gracious. Some says the vocal are ruining it, but for my self the vocals, which are only on two songs, are really well placed and not ruining the music.

CHON are so young... they will grow

Really can't get into this at all. Story and Echo are pretty nice.

This is a fun listen.

Can't deny the awesome musicianship on this but it seems like they're kind of a one trick pony with their overall sound. They have a very specific sound and it doesn't really change.

their bassist Drew was one of the coolest things about this band, so I have no doubt CHON will get worse from here. Drew was a Sputnik user at some point actually which is pretty cool

Yeah, they've got an awesome sound, and the album was cool. They're clearly talented, but if the next album sounds just like a rehash of this, I'll be pretty disappointed.

Been jamming this a lot again. Very nice on crisp, sunny autumn days!

I saw them live with periphery. I coulda sworn the bassist was a different dude but read through the comments and realize he is. The guy had no stage presence and pretty much just played one note each song. Totally boring and ruined a lot of potentially interesting moments.

Yeah, looking at old performances of the band, Drew seemed to have the most presence, he was always way into the music and grooving about. I haven't seen anything with the new bassist.

I think Drew was also the singer in the few songs with vox.

Man, I REALLY wanted to see that tour. I saw Coheed, Glassjaw, and Thank You Scientist at the Stone Pony in New Jersey, and saw that the Dear Hunter and CHON were going to be there.

I wish I could have gone back

These dudes are talented as fuck. You may not like the audio presented here, but you have to give it up to em.
