I’m always so surprised at how under the radar this record is. You can very much hear their war metal roots, but instead of devolving that impenetrable mess of noise most bands of that ilk do, PI wrote riffs instead. This sounds like if Morbid Angel were a black metal band and Pete Helmkamp was the frontman.
